Envy: The Simpsons and Intent
On the heels of Jeff's blogwar that started due to his thoughts on intent in text, comes this post from vulgar morality pointing out the absurd rewriting of the text of the Simpsons by some dam fer'ner.
The Simpsons, like Monty Python, is an Anglo-Saxon comedic take on the existentialism which in France takes on a more tragic hue. Albert Camus' absurd is defied not by will, but mocking laughter.Maybe its just me, but I don't think this is what Matt Groening intended.
