Since moving I have been mostly using my laptop (a Compaq 2100) as my main system. My desktop powerhouse is hidden away in a closet and is acting as a server and Internet portal via a household wireless network. I was constantly frustrated by the slowness of the laptop, even though it is a 2Ghz system. Now that I am doing a lot more on the laptop, I decided to try adding RAM to the system to try and help out the performance.

Man, what a difference! I added 512M to the standard 256M and the difference is astonishing. I knew that it would be better, but I had no idea it would be this much better.

Got a slow laptop? Got $70? Buy some RAM!
