Mike McCarthy was introduced today as the next coach of the Green Bay Packers, otherwise known as "The Greatest Job in the Universe". Somehow, yet again, I was passed up without even an interview. I know my NFL coaching resume is kind of thin (i.e. nonexistent), but at least I understand the history and passion the state of Wisconsin has for this franchise. Ted Thompson apparently decided “actual competence” outweighed “rabid fandom” in Head Coaching Candidates. He also admired Coach McCarthy’s "Pittsburgh-macho, tough guy" quality over my “Wisconsin Cheesehead-owning” quality. (I also own a Cheese hat and tie for formal occations).

In a news conference at Lambeau Field, McCarthy promised Packers fans an "unconditional commitment to bring the world championship back to Green Bay."

Good luck with that Coach McCarty! Now stop daydreaming and get your sorry butt down to Mississippi and get Brett back on board.
