If Lileks can do it, so can I...dammit!

Anyone that has ever had a 3-year-old understands the meaning of life. Their motives are transparent and amusing. Their love is genuine and given freely. Their desires, while sometimes not in their best interests, are easily fulfilled. I love my daughter with every ounce of my being and that is how it should be.

I will never be a perfect dad, but I can try. If she reads this in some old, dusty internet archive someday and can put the pieces together, she will know that daddy really did love her no matter what he took away or how hard he scolded her.
